The Rock at the Ix complex

This demonstration garden featuring native plants offers some 6,000 square feet of shade and sun garden near the renovated Monticello Associates building on the old Ix property. Space is dominated by a large rock (hence the name) under mature trees. Walk through to see how you can use native plants in your landscape.

Directions: Within walking distance of the downtown pedestrian mall. Driving south from Charlottesville on 5th Street (Ridge Street) from Main, turn left on Monticello Avenue, right on 6th Street and go a few blocks to the entrance of the Ix building complex. The Rock is next to the parking lot. Map
