Garden Basics: Why and How to Reduce Chemical Use in Your Yard and Garden

Integrated Pest Management is a great approach to creating a resilient garden and healthy home landscape. You will learn:

  • why reducing chemical use is important;
  • the basic issues with commonly used insecticides, herbicides, and synthetic fertilizers;
  • how to follow Integrated Pest Management as a practical alternative to chemicals;
  • best practices for lawns, edible gardens, and landscapes;
  • how to change your thinking to build a healthier ecology in your home landscape.

Garden Basics classes are free and presented in person at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1118 Preston Avenue in Charlottesville.

Registration closes on November 18th. 

Garden Basics is a partnership with the Bread and Roses ministry at Trinity Church.
