Master Gardener Information Meeting

November 1 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Master Gardeners are volunteer plant educators of the Virginia Cooperative Extension, who teach our community about vegetable and flower growing, healthy lawns, and sustainable landscapes. If you love plants and would enjoy sharing their amazing qualities with others, you can learn more about being a Master Gardener at this upcoming Info Meeting.

Master Gardeners share information with the public at farmers markets, Monticello’s Heritage Harvest Festival, Garden Basics workshops, and other community venues.  Theyalso staff a free Horticulture Help Desk office to answer gardening questions by phone, email, or in person at the Virginia Cooperative Extension office. In all, more than twenty projects are available for volunteering: elementary schoolyard garden clubs, speakers bureau, The Garden Shed online newsletter, demonstration gardens, Healthy Virginia Lawns program, and Garden Tour docents.

If you’re interested in becoming a 2020 Master Gardener you’ll need to submit an application between October 1 – December 1, 2019. Application packets are available at the Info Meeting, for download on this website (under “Volunteer”), or in person at the Virginia Cooperative Extension office on Stagecoach Road.
