The Rivanna Chapter of the Virginia Master Naturalists is accepting applications for the 2020 training class. We are a volunteer corps dedicated to preserving our natural heritage. The training will run on Wednesday mornings from February 10 to May 20, with Wednesday afternoon and Saturday field trips. Sessions will be held at Ivy Creek Natural Area. Dr. Mary Jane Epps will join us to discuss tiger swallowtails pollinating flame azalea. Mary Jane is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Mary Baldwin University, and is the daughter of our chapter president Mary Lee Epps. Mary Jane earned her undergraduate degree at Duke University and a PhD in ecology and evolutionary biology at the University of Arizona. Free; all are welcome.
