    Guided Tree Walk at the Ivy Creek Natural Area

    –Tuesday, October 7  @ 9:30 to 11:00     a.m.

    Learn about the area’s trees and landscapes, exploring how they reflect both the cultural and natural history of the land, why certain trees grow where they do, plus tips for identifying the most common species.This easy to moderate walk will be on established well-maintained trails with only slight inclines and declines.

    C’ville Tree Stewards Fall TREE SALE

    –Saturday, October 11 @ 10:00 am — 12:00 pm

    –Virginia Department of Forestry at 900 Natural Resources Drive in Charlottesville

    Charlottesville Area Tree Stewards (CATS) maintains its own tree nursery, entirely run by volunteers who plant saplings (mostly natives) obtained from the Virginia Department of Forestry and other sources and nurture them until they are large enough to be planted out.
